Microbio is committed to continuous efforts in carbon reduction through the implementation of multiple measures:
1.Carbon Reduction in Production Processes:
In Q3 2020, the company replaced oil-fired boilers with gas-fired boilers, completing the upgrade in February 2021, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
In Q2 2023, the company invested NT$5.5 million to replace the chiller system at the Longtan facility, with an estimated annual energy savings of 160,000 kWh.
2.Carbon Reduction in Products:
Products are made primarily from natural herbal plants and organic soybeans, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and environmental impact.
Beverage packaging underwent lightweight redesign, transitioning from glass bottles to aluminum pouches, reducing carbon emissions during transportation.
3.Procurement of Energy-Saving Equipment:
Priority is given to purchasing office equipment with eco-label and energy-saving certifications.
In 2024, the company invested NT$1.153 million in the operational headquarters’ data center to acquire two HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 servers certified by the U.S. ENERGY STAR. According to the ENERGY STAR website, certified servers consume 30% less energy than standard servers and, when power management features are enabled, each server can save over 650 kWh of electricity annually, effectively reducing carbon emissions.
